2022: A FRESH START

UBCO has suspended campus space rentals until further notice. The safety and well-being of our guests, staff and community remains our top priority. That’s why UBCO has decided not to open accommodations for summer 2021, and instead focus on a post-pandemic start in 2022. We’re using this time to update and improve the guest experience for when we re-open. Exciting changes include:

  • A new front desk in Nechako, UBCO’s newest multi-use building, providing more space to welcome guests.
  • Renovated Monashee residence with brightly painted walls and new kitchens, floors, furniture and air. You’ll love the new look and feel of these studio, one-bedroom and family suites.
  • Our bright and colourful Skeena residence, featuring 115 Single Solo units for individual travellers.
  • A 500-seat dining hall in Nechako, offering daily delicious menus for single travellers and groups.

Keep dreaming of your next visit to Kelowna! We are still here to help you plan for future trips to UBCO and the Okanagan, so stay a while, explore our website, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’ll see you again soon!

Q: How can I support Kelowna during this time?

Deciding to halt operations is never easy for any business. But COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on the tourism industry, local businesses, and communities in the Okanagan, and around the world. We’re committed to doing our part in halting the spread of COVID-19, and protecting our guests, staff and community. If you would like to support Okanagan businesses during this difficult time, visit Tourism Kelowna’s website, and learn more about how you can support Kelowna from home.

UBC is closely monitoring updates from our Provincial Health Authority with regards to plans to gradually loosen restrictions on businesses and travel. Currently, non-essential travel is discouraged, businesses are encouraged to operate online, and community members are being asked to stay home. For now, we plan to keep our campus residences closed to non-essential visitors until further notice.
